A large-scale media platform focused on delivering news content, audio podcasts, and live streaming features. The mobile application is built to support high-volume content consumption, where users primarily engage with articles, multimedia content, and interactive features such as comments and live discussions. The system is designed in a modular way to ensure flexibility for integrating multiple third-party services while maintaining a consistent user experience across the app.
Challenges and Solutions
The platform required integrating multiple external widgets into a modular Android architecture without affecting stability or maintainability. The challenge was to keep integrations scalable and aligned with existing feature modules.
We isolated widgets into dedicated modules and integrated them within the existing Compose-based architecture. Using Kotlin, Coroutines, Hilt, and GraphQL, we ensured clean separation of concerns and stable data flow across the app.
Integrating Smartocto for article-level analytics (attention time, scroll depth, user behavior) required accurate tracking without impacting performance or UI responsiveness.
We built a lightweight, lifecycle-aware tracking layer using Coroutines to capture user interactions efficiently. This ensured reliable analytics while keeping performance impact minimal.
The challenge was integrating Engagently comments into article pages while keeping the experience fully native and synchronized with app navigation and state.
We embedded the system directly into the Compose UI layer and managed state with Hilt-based architecture. This created a seamless in-app commenting experience that felt native to the platform.
