Healthcare solution designed to improve communication and treatment transparency between dentists and patients through two native mobile apps for Android and iOS. The patient-facing app enables users to view active and past dental treatments, track oral scanner data and treatment progress, and communicate directly with their dentist through in-app messaging. On the other side, the doctor-facing app allows dentists to manage a structured list of patients, access detailed treatment histories, update and manage ongoing treatments, and maintain efficient communication with patients.
Challenges and Solutions
The platform needed a scalable architecture across two native apps without duplicated logic or inconsistent behavior between Android and iOS. It had to support fast feature expansion, reuse across apps, and long-term maintainability at scale.
We built and maintained 10+ reusable SDK modules using Kotlin Multiplatform, shared across both platforms, with native Android modules where needed. Our team owned the full SDK lifecycle from planning to integration. Modules like Patient List SDK and Feedback SDK enabled consistency, faster delivery, and scalable growth.
With over 1M downloads and 300K-500K active users, the apps needed to stay stable under heavy usage while ensuring reliable SDK integration and smooth UX across both platforms.
We focused on testing, automation, and CI/CD using Compose Test, Espresso, Bitrise, and GitHub, along with controlled SDK versioning and rollouts. This ensured high stability, predictable releases, and safe scaling of new features.
The SDK-based architecture and healthcare requirements slowed down development cycles, so the goal was to increase speed without losing quality.
We integrated AI-assisted workflows for coding, testing, and bug detection, improving daily development efficiency. This saved 10+ hours per cycle and increased productivity by ~30%, while maintaining high code quality and fast delivery.
