What Is the Connected Fitness Platform?
The project involves an Android-based tablet that advertises a virtual Bluetooth fitness device, allowing compatible training applications to connect as they would to physical fitness equipment.
Aetherius contributed to Android platform development, Bluetooth debugging, and review of integration changes. Our engineer used AI to explore relevant code, investigate errors, and propose fixes, then reviewed the changes and tested behavior on the device before submitting work through the team’s review process.

Challenges and Solutions
Third-party training applications did not reliably recognize the virtual fitness device. Some Bluetooth service identifiers were constructed in an internal format rather than the standard format those applications expected.
Our engineer used an AI coding agent to investigate the relevant Bluetooth code and locate the identifier-formatting issue. The proposed correction was reviewed, built, and tested on the tablet to check whether external applications could discover and connect to the device.
The issue involved Android platform behavior and external applications. Reviewing the proposed code change alone could not establish whether discovery and connection worked in the intended environment.
The engineer built and deployed relevant platform components, including the Bluetooth stack, and used ADB and manual device checks to validate behavior. This allowed the team to investigate the affected component without rebuilding the entire Android platform for each iteration.
In separate merge work on the same project, a proposed conflict resolution would have retained a project-specific version of a public API signature file while removing existing method declarations that needed to remain.
Our engineer identified the missing declarations during review, rejected the proposed resolution, and restored the appropriate version from the main branch while retaining only intentional project changes. This preserved the required declarations before accepting the merge result.
